While I did get some photos of nature while we were in Barcelona, Spain, over Spring break from Lezha Academic Center (see the Birds and the Flowers blogs to see some of these), here I will mainly focus on the urban landscape of Barcelona.
First I'll share some photos of high-rise buildings near our Vinni Hotel.

I also found several situations that caught my eye with their pleasing bright splashes of color.

On Thursday, as I walked around the Diagonal Marr Park and to the seashore, a number of situations on the water caught my interest, too.

When we got home to Lezhë, Albania, on Friday afternoon, the electricity was off for several more hours. And in the days that followed, this happened several more times. This candle is a warm and friendly symbol of such events.

Thankfully, the electricity has been constant for the past several days. And we are very thankful for the time we had to spend with friends and colleagues in Barcelona.
