The Resilient Queen Anne's Lace, and More

Back in July when Elsie and I were visiting Skyline Cafe and Art (where I have some of my train photos for sale) just outside of Harrisonburg, VA, USA, next door to the parking lot was this wonderful field of Queen Anne's Lace in bloom. I have never seen a whole field full of these resilient wild floors that some may call a week. Ever since I was a young boy, I liked these flowers.

[If you are interested in visiting Skyline Cafe and Art, take US 33 east from Harrisonburg until you get to the traffic light at the intersection where one can turn left to Massanutten. Instead turn right and next to the church on the corner, one will see Skyline Cafe and Art. They make good food and display and have for sale works from many different artists. (I did sell two train photos in the past six months and hope to sell more when more tourists come to see the fall foliage in the area.)]

With my fondness for Queen Anne's Lace, I was very excited to see that the plant also grows here in Albania and as usual in some rather strange places. The photos here were taken while I leaned over the edge of the bridge over the drainage canal that goes past the market here in Lezhë. So next to a rather trashy waterway, were these beautiful flowers. It reminds me that poeple can just as easily rise above their circumstances, especially with God's action in their lives.

I'll complete this posting with two photos of a Mullein plant in Harrisonburg, VA, USA. As I was photographing some trains neqar R. S. Monger lumber yard, I noticed this plant a mere foot (30 cm) from the track ties and growing right in the gravel used as the base for the ties.

I already have a number of flowering plants I want to show from here in Albania, but they will wait until my next posting.
