"...One old man can't be all that bad. Won't you please let me sing in the choir?" Truly I am not begging to sing in the Lezha Academic Center choir, but the concert on Saturday, June 13, was an excellent event. So I recalled the song in keeping with my strong evaluation of the choirs. The Mennonite Children's Choir of Lancaster (Pennsylvania, USA) was touring in Albania giving a number of concerts. One of their stops was here in Lezhë. Part of the concert was with the LAC choir.

The next day, Sunday, drinking coffee at My Bar, we got to see Vincent with his grandma. One could easily see the joy and love in both of their faces.

Phil Moyer asked me if I had some photos of the school and some banners. So this prompted me to take some new photos of the school and some first time photos of the banners I had not noticed for quite awhile.. (Phil and Betsy are back in Pennsylvania, USA, after serving at LAC for several months this spring.) In the photo below, the cafeteria, library and teachers room are on first floor. Classrooms are on second and third floor with some offices and another office is on fourth floor. Some teacher and staff apartments are on fourth and fifth floors.

A banner showing a short vision statement for LAC is also hanging on first floor. "Instilling hope. Inspiring change. Building Community."

Monday and Tuesday were the days for finals for the students, so many of them returned library books that needed re-shelving.

On Tuesday the teachers were also busy at grading the finals and at sampling the homemade cookies Elsie had brought.

On that same day, Klementina met with the Ad Council (chaired by Bardha with Justin Rittenhouse (outgoing member), Robert Cook (incoming member) and myself, and with Katrina Schmid and Elsie (both returning for next year) to do some planning for an effective week of orientation for the new teachers coming in the middle of August. There will be at least three new persons. Please pray for them and all of the teachers and staff for next year.

There never seems to be any lack of things going on at LAC or in the community. Lezhë is bustling but not hectic.
